Why People Don't Go Back to Cotton
FAQs
Is linen scratchy?
It's a dry, textured feel rather than a silky one, and ours is stonewashed so it's already soft on the first night. It then keeps softening for years. If the only linen you've felt is a stiff new sample in a shop, that isn't what this is like on a bed.
Does it wrinkle?
Yes, and that's the point. Linen is meant to look relaxed rather than pressed, and the soft creases are the whole look of it. If you want a flat, hotel-crisp finish every single morning, linen isn't the fabric for you.
How is this different from a cooling or bamboo sheet?
Most sheets sold as cooling, hotel quality or bamboo are synthetic. Read the label and you'll usually find microfibre, polyester or a poly blend, which is plastic. Plastic can't breathe and can't dry, so it traps your heat and pins your sweat against your skin. Linen is a plant. Flax, spun and woven, and nothing else.
Is this just the fitted sheet?
Yes. One fitted sheet on its own. It doesn't include a flat sheet or pillowcases.
What if I don't like it?
Sleep on it for 30 nights. If it isn't the best sheet you've owned, send it back for a full refund. Linen needs a few washes to come into its own, so give it a proper run rather than judging it on the first night.
